Books/Magazines I'm Reading
I was really happy with this until I took a picture of it. Photos SO have their limitations don't they? Nothing compares to the real thing.

Model Paints
I found a tray of these old paints for plastic models. There may be enough subject matter here to keep me busy for days.

New Blackberry
I created this drawing for two reasons. 1) I wanted to try out my new Pilot disposable fountain pen and 2) this was the last page of my sketch book.

Miscellaneous Hardware
I pulled few items out of my miscellaneous hardware box today. I can't tell you how many times I have look at these over the years. I am not sure where most of it came from but I do know that some of it came from my grandparents house when they moved to a nursing home. Why I keep these thing I don't know. Maybe it's because I think I'll need them some day. Maybe it's because for as long as I can remember I, or someone in my family, has owned them. Maybe it is because it is part of my family, my history.

A Disposable Fountain Pen?

That's what I asked myself when I saw this on-line. I was looking for a refillable fountain pen to replace my old Parker with the replaceable ink cartridges when I cam across this. A disposable fountain pen. You've got to be kidding, I said to myself as I filled out the order form.
I haven't given them a good test run yet but so far they look pretty good. I mean, what do you want? They're only $1.70 each.

Blow Torch
I had such high hopes for this one. I started with a light pencil drawing, making sure I got everything just right—and I don't think I did now that I look at the finished product. This just isn't working for me. Maybe it is because I started drawing it in pencil. Maybe it is because had such a vision in my head as to how it would turn out that the odds were against it's success. I don't know. Maybe next time. Not every drawing can be a success, but every drawing can be an opportunity for learning.

Old Iron

Originally I wanted to do this in watercolor but at the last minute I changed my mind and went with colored pencil. Not sure I am happy with how it turned out. Maybe I'll go ahead and create another with watercolor and see which one I like better.

Portraits #2 and #3

Once again, feeling the need to draw portraits, I did a quick search in Google and came up with these interesting characters. I am finally getting more comfortable drawing people. A few more of these sketch from photos and I'll be ready for the real thing.

Hat, Bottle, Box
Here is one I did a while back and forgot about. It is an oil pastel with an acrylic underpainting. I'm pleased with the exception of the box - it's perspective is a little off.

August Sanders
Another 10 minute drawing.I just had to get away from editing hardware manuals, so I did a quick search in Google and this guys photo popped up. Turns out he was a photographer back in the late 1800's to mid 1900's.
Not sure I got the exact likeness, but I am pleased none the less.

Christmas Bell Ornament - with color

I just had to see what this B&W drawing might look like with color. A little Photoshop work and there it is.

Christmas Bell Ornament
This started out to be a colored pencil drawing. I wanted to create a monochromatic under drawing and got so carried away that...well...I was afraid adding color may ruin it.

billfehr.com

Here is my first attempt at redesigning my web site. I seem to be drawn (pun intended) to grays for some reason.

Bell Xmas Ornament
This did not turn out quite like I had in mind. Maybe I will try again but with oils or acrylics instead.
